Greensburg GreenTown is a charitable, nonprofit organization working in Greensburg, Kansas to rebuild the town following the devastating tornado in May of 2007. The town has made a remarkable comeback, reinventing itself as a model for sustainable building and green living now recognized around the world. GreenTown’s mission is to make green building and living easily understood, appealing and accessible to all.

How to Help

Greensburg GreenTown provides free support to the residents of Greensburg and Kiowa and Stafford Counties, and we rely on donations to continue our work. Please consider making a donation of any amount, to support us in supporting this pioneering community dedicated to rebuilding a healthy, vibrant and sustainable town.

  • Plots of land near downtown Greensburg for green Demonstration Homes Project
  • Green product and service donations for residents, so that every home can be as green as possible
  • Equipment  (computers and kiosks)for the "Education Stations" that will be in buildings and significant sites throughout the town.
  • Donations of energy efficient appliances for residents
  • Volunteers to assist residents one-on-one to become familiar with all aspects of green living
  • Funds to provide incentives for homeowners to build green
  • Support for travel so that we can send people around the country to tell our story.
