"One Green Town"

Photos courtesy of Cedric Angeles.

"What I worried about was losing the school, the dime store, the grocery store, the theater, everything we had grown up with. But now I realize that our community is still here. And that we're stronger than ever." - Cassie Kirby, resident.

In the May 2009 issue of Good Housekeeping, Jenny Deam does of wonderful job of recounting the events of May 4th, 2007 as well as highlighting many of Greensburg's lead innovators in her article entitled "One Green Town". During her time in town, Deam interviewed Dea Corns (Greensburg State Bank co-owner), Melinda Kendall (local substitute teacher), Cassie Kirby (school board clerk), Jill Eller (local resident), Bob Dixson (Greensburg mayor), Darin Headrick (school superintendent), Steve Hewitt (city administrator), and our very own Daniel Wallach.
