Book Your Tickets: May 1st Weekend in Greensburg

Last Year, REO Speedwagon Performed in Greensburg for The Early Show on CBS

GreenTown is making plans for our annual appreciation supper, which coincides with the anniversary of the 2007 tornado. This year the event is scheduled for Saturday, May 2. We will be acknowledging individuals and businesses who have contributed to the success of the Green Initiative. Awards will be given to innovators and champions of the green rebuilding of Greensburg. We also will be hosting tours of the community (Greensburg GreenTours). The Kansas City and Wichita chapters of the U.S. Green Building Council have generously offered to send volunteers to Greensburg that weekend to help out GreenTown with hosting and greeting visitors.

Also on tap for that weekend is the grand opening ceremony of the local John Deere dealership, BTI Greensburg, which is a model of energy efficiency for the international John Deere community. Brothers Kelly and Mike Estes have gone above and beyond in the rebuilding of their company from the ground up. You can read more about their project on our Sustainable Buildings Database.

Give us a ring at the GreenTown office to find out where to stay, how to get here, and what to expect!
