The Baptist Church is in the planning stages, but Pastor Marvin George says they are committed to rebuilding LEED Platinum!...BTI John Deere is back on track and has contracted with Hastco Construction to build their new facility. Bill Hanlon, a long time supporter and consultant to GreenTown is working along side Hastco to assist in realizing the dream of making this building a showpiece and example of green building. Shanti pless at NREL has played a major role in the design of this building as well.

Care and Share, the building that will house the thrift store of the Ministerial Alliance, is being erected on Main Street. This structure is being designed by a LEED certified architect and built by Strickland Construction of Kansas City. At this point, the intent is that the Care and Share will achieve a minimum LEED Silver rating...NREL will be in town again soon to meet with the three banks in Greensburg to assist in the design and construction of their new buildings...Prairie Point, the large development of senior living housing and multi-family units on Main Street, is on track to be a LEED certified Gold level project. This is another great success story in Greensburg and we are grateful to the folks at Manske and Associates for going to great lengths to do their part in making Greensburg a model green community...The Commercial Group is developing a 36- unit apartment complex and 20 single- family residences, and has expressed their desire to build as green as possible. GreenTown and the NREL folks are working together to assist them, and we appreciate their interest in supporting the green initiative in Greensburg.
